Six Planes

Six Planes is a sculptural work inspired by a vision experienced during a psychedelic journey, in which six luminous rings radiated upward from a tree trunk. This specific vision initiated an ongoing inquiry into points of connection between the physical and spiritual realms. The inclusion of wings extends previous sculptural investigations and invokes the archetype of the angel (a figure traditionally seen as a bridge between the divine and human realms).

Constructed from locally sourced wood and reclaimed plywood offcuts, the work reflects both its subject matter and a commitment to sustainability. Slow, handmade processes deliberately resist machine perfection and capitalist efficiency. The vivid yellow surfaces offer a stylised translation of the original gold-hued vision, using the intensity of a primary colour to render a transcendental experience visually accessible.
